Telangana police officer Bheem Reddy jailed over Rs 300 crore illegal assets
A Hyderabad city court sentenced suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police Sankireddy Bheem Reddy to 14 days of judicial custody, ordering his transfer to Chanchalguda Central Jail. The order follows a disproportionate‑assets case filed by the Telangana Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB), which alleges that Reddy amassed illegal property and wealth worth roughly Rs 300 crore.
The ACB’s raids spanned Telangana and Karnataka, covering the officer’s residence and 15 additional premises linked to relatives and associates. Seized assets include a villa, multiple apartments and commercial spaces, several acres of agricultural land in both states, cash totalling around Rs 4 crore, gold jewellery weighing about 2 kg, silver items, and bank balances close to Rs 20 lakh. Investigators also recovered a handwritten diary in which Reddy listed his properties, investments and alleged benamis, copies of which he had shared with his sons via WhatsApp before a pilgrimage.
The case is among the largest anti‑corruption investigations involving a police officer in the state, highlighting extensive asset accumulation beyond known income sources.
