Telangana railway modernization projects see major progress

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has inspected ongoing railway modernization projects across Telangana, highlighting significant infrastructure developments under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

At the Gadwal-Jogulamba railway station, approximately 95 per cent of modernization works are complete. The project, costing Rs 6.7 crore, includes special designs to accommodate devotees visiting the nearby Alampur Jogulamba Ammavari Kshetra. Similarly, the Vikarabad Railway Station is undergoing redevelopment at an estimated cost of Rs 27 crore to improve accessibility and passenger convenience for the 15,000 daily users.

In total, around 40 railway stations in Telangana, including Secunderabad, Nampally, and Tandur, are being upgraded to international standards with a combined investment exceeding Rs 2,000 crore. These upgrades feature enhanced platforms, waiting halls, escalators, and improved lighting. Additionally, the minister noted that the Detailed Project Report for the northern section of the proposed 400-km Regional Ring Rail around Hyderabad has been submitted.
