Telangana seeks central aid for rainfall relief and outlines $3 trillion economic goal

The Telangana Legislative Assembly has unanimously passed resolutions requesting immediate financial assistance from the Union Government to address severe rainfall deficits and El Niño conditions. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu called for the release of the Centre’s share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and additional aid from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). The state is seeking support for crop loss, drinking water, livestock protection, and the restoration of water resources.

In a separate context regarding long-term economic goals, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka expressed Telangana’s commitment to the ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’ initiative. Speaking at a conference in New Delhi, he outlined a strategy to reach a $3 trillion economy by 2047. To achieve this, the state aims to reduce reliance on government borrowing by strengthening Public-Private Partnerships, green bonds, and blended finance, while ensuring development extends beyond Hyderabad into rural regions.
