Telangana to host Khelo India Youth Games 2026

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to ensure the prestigious Khelo India Youth Games 2026 are organized on a grand scale. During a review meeting in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to improve sports infrastructure, including the permanent development of existing stadiums and sports grounds in Hyderabad.

The government has expressed readiness to provide the necessary funds for these improvements. The Chief Minister also instructed officials to plan elaborate opening and closing ceremonies, suggesting the involvement of prominent athletes, celebrities, and Arjuna Award winners to enhance the event's prestige.

The upcoming games will feature competitions across 20 different sports. Officials have been tasked with identifying suitable venues for each discipline and establishing a clear division of responsibilities regarding guest accommodation, transportation, and overall event management to showcase Telangana's sporting spirit on a national level.
