Telangana Waqf Board alleges illegal sale of Dargah land near Hyderabad airport

The Telangana Waqf Board lodged a formal complaint with Pahadi Shareef police alleging that individuals, including Farooq, Rafeeq Shaik and Zeeshan, are illegally selling and constructing on Wakf land belonging to the historic Dargah Hazrat Baba Sharfuddin. The disputed area is Survey No. 96 in Mamidipally village, adjacent to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, and forms part of a larger 2,132‑acre estate.

Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway. The board warned that the alleged land‑grab network creates unauthorised layouts, sells plots to unsuspecting buyers, and threatens the charitable purpose of the Wakf property. It has called for a detailed inquiry and for authorities to halt further construction and registration of the encroached land.
