Telde San Francisco festivities Jesús Ruiz Mesa handball tournament cultural heritage

The municipality of Telde is hosting several local cultural and sporting events. Jesús Ruiz Mesa, a cultural communicator and photographer known for documenting the city's history and heritage, has been selected as the herald for the 2026 San Francisco festivities. His proclamation is scheduled for October 30.

In sports, the Club Deportivo Marta Mangué successfully held the first edition of the Laooal Dental youth handball tournament at the Juan Carlos Hernández Sosa Municipal Sports Center. The female team, Las Panteras del Marta Mangué, emerged as the tournament champions.

Additionally, the local economy saw the opening of La Alegría de la Huerta, a new fruit and vegetable shop in the San Juan neighborhood specializing in local and seasonal products.
