Tele2 and Deutsche Telekom Accelerate 5G and Fiber Rollouts in Europe

Swedish operator Tele2 is pursuing profit‑driven growth in the Scandinavian market by expanding 5G in partnership with Telenor Sweden and rolling out faster fiber and DOCSIS cable networks. The company is bundling mobile, broadband and TV services to boost average revenue per user and stabilize service‑income margins, with the next earnings test scheduled for July 2026.

In Germany, Deutsche Telekom has upgraded mobile coverage in the town of Drognitz, adding a new 4G/5G site that improves bandwidth and indoor signal quality along the Thuringia‑East railway corridor. Company spokesperson Stefanie Halle said data consumption is rising about 30 % annually due to streaming, social media and AI use. The upgrade is part of the operator’s effort to keep its network “fit” for growing demand.
