Telecel Ghana awards GH₵1m to winner of M’ahitti promotion

Telecel Ghana has awarded GH₵1 million to Adiza Ibrahim, a widowed mother of eight from Prang, as the first grand prize winner of the company’s Telecel M’ahitti promotion. The prize was presented in Yeji, within the Bono East Region, in the presence of her family and community members.

Ibrahim’s family initially suspected the notification of the win was a scam due to the prevalence of mobile money fraud. The legitimacy of the prize was confirmed when Telecel officials traveled to her community to present the funds in person. Ibrahim, who has worked to support her family by cooking for local schoolchildren, intends to use the prize to prioritize her children’s education.

The M’ahitti promotion was launched in July to reward customer loyalty. The campaign is designed to produce three grand prize winners of GH₵1 million each over a four-month period. Additionally, the promotion includes 12,000 daily winners receiving GH₵100 and up to 48 weekly winners receiving GH₵20,000.
