Telecel Group signs $200m Huawei deal to expand Ghana network

Telecel Group has signed a $200 million, three-year strategic partnership with Huawei to expand its telecommunications infrastructure. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was formalized at the HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 event in Shanghai.

This new agreement nearly triples the $70 million framework established between the two companies in November 2025. The partnership focuses on network expansion, mobile broadband densification, and the development of intelligent digital infrastructure across Telecel’s operations.

Ghana has been identified as a primary focus market for this investment program. The initiative aims to support Telecel’s growing consumer and enterprise customer base in Ghana through improved network coverage and more reliable connectivity.
