Telecinco faces audience decline and leadership pressure

Telecinco has reported a decline in audience share for September, closing the month with an average share of approximately 8.3% to 8.4%. This figure places the network significantly behind its main competitors, Antena 3, which led with 12.7% to 12.8%, and La 1, which reached 11.7% to 12%.

While the network shows strength in specific morning programming produced by Unicorn Content—such as 'El programa de Ana Rosa' and 'El tiempo justo'—it struggles to maintain consistent viewership across other time slots, particularly in the afternoon and news segments. The data suggests a structural issue with the programming grid rather than isolated failures.

The disappointing performance is increasing pressure on Mediaset España's leadership, specifically CEO Alessandro Salem. Reports indicate growing dissatisfaction within the Italian parent company, MFE, regarding the Spanish subsidiary's current strategic direction and its inability to recover lost ground.
