Telecinco faces daytime programming and audience crisis

Telecinco, the flagship channel of Mediaset, is facing a significant crisis in its daytime programming, struggling to establish viewer habits and consistent audience shares.

Recent data highlights the decline of the game show ‘Rueda la letra’, which debuted with a 9.1% share but has dropped to an average of 7.7%, hitting a low of 6% in late September. While the channel has seen success with ‘Allá tú’, which averaged 10.3% in September, it has struggled to replicate that formula with other formats.

The morning programming is also fragmented, with multiple shows such as ‘La mirada crítica’, ‘El programa de AR’, ‘El tiempo justo’, and ‘Vamos a ver’ all produced by Unicorn Content. This concentration of editorial power has been linked to a dilution of viewership, exemplified by ‘Vamos a ver’ reaching a historic low of 6.5% share in early October, significantly trailing competitors like Antena 3.
