Telecom consumers urged to review subscriptions to reduce costs

Consumers are being encouraged to review their telecommunications subscriptions to reduce costs and improve connection quality. As internet usage increases following the summer period due to remote work and streaming, upgrading to newer technologies like Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 can provide better performance.

While operators are legally required by the IBPT to inform customers at least once a year about more suitable offers based on their consumption, many users fail to notice these recommendations as they are often buried in digital invoices. Although there were previous proposals to automate the transfer of customers to more advantageous tariffs with their explicit consent, these measures have not been implemented due to complexity.

To assist consumers, the IBPT has developed various measures, including requiring operators to compare offers across all their brands, to help users find more competitive pricing and better services.
