Telecom Operators and ZenaTech Accelerate Drone-as-a-Service Growth

Telecom operators are pivoting from simply selling connectivity to offering full Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS) solutions. By leveraging existing mobile networks, edge computing, cloud platforms and AI‑driven data analytics, they aim to provide secure data transmission, real‑time communications and fleet management for commercial drone deployments across sectors such as energy, agriculture, public safety and logistics. Industry analysts note that advances in AI and broader adoption of Beyond Visual Line‑of‑Sight (BVLOS) operations are making large‑scale, autonomous drone services increasingly viable.

ZenaTech, Inc. announced the completion of its 25th acquisition – Velocity Geomatics Inc., a Canadian firm based in Alberta. The deal expands ZenaTech’s DaaS portfolio into environmental and regulatory inspection services for the oil‑and‑gas industry in Western Canada. The acquisition adds regional expertise, an established customer base and AI‑enhanced surveying capabilities, reinforcing ZenaTech’s strategy to capture a market growing at about 28% annually.
