Telecom operators deploy U6GHz networks in Macau and Hong Kong

Telecommunications providers in Macau and Hong Kong have announced the successful deployment and testing of U6GHz frequency networks, marking a significant step toward 5G-Advanced and future 6G technology.

In Macau, CTO Macau has established the first U6GHz commercial application scenarios at the MGM Cotai outdoor platform and Viso Plaza. The deployment utilizes advanced VitaAAU wireless base stations and RetinaMIMO technology to enhance network capacity and stability in high-density environments. This initiative is part of the company’s strategy to build a “dual 10Gbps” network infrastructure and prepare for 6G evolution.

In Hong Kong, China Mobile Hong Kong has completed network testing and verification of the city’s first U6GHz network at its Mong Kok flagship store. Having secured 100MHz of continuous spectrum, the operator utilizes spectrum aggregation technology to achieve download speeds exceeding 3Gbps. The company aims to integrate U6GHz with intelligent computing services to support emerging technologies such as AI-powered smart glasses, robotics, and immersive interactive applications.
