Telecom operators reshape Romanian market landscape

The Romanian telecommunications market is undergoing a structural shift following the disappearance of Telekom Mobile as an independent operator. Financial data from the first half of the year indicates that Orange remains the revenue leader with approximately 690 million euros, followed by DIGI at 622 million euros.

In the mobile segment, Orange maintains its position as the largest operator by revenue-generating users with roughly 9 million customers. DIGI has reached approximately 8.4 million mobile users, while Vodafone has stabilized at about 7.5 million active customers after integrating portions of the Telekom business.

The fixed internet market shows a different hierarchy, where DIGI holds a dominant position with over 5.2 million connections, significantly ahead of Orange and Vodafone.
