Telefónica acquires 10% stake in OGA Group to boost defense AI

Telefónica España has completed the purchase of a 10% stake in OGA Group, a deep-tech company specializing in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced simulation models. The acquisition is paired with a commercial and technical alliance to integrate OGA’s capabilities into Telefónica’s B2B service catalog for companies and administrations.

The partnership focuses on enhancing AI solutions for the industrial sector, with a specific emphasis on defense. OGA’s technologies, which include digital twins and real-time decision-making models, are designed for critical processes in defense, logistics, energy, retail, and health.

While Telefónica has entered the capital structure, the agreement does not include a seat on OGA’s board of directors, allowing the company to maintain its independence. OGA is headquartered in Camas, Spain, with an office in New York.
