Telefónica España reorganizes into three business units
Telefónica España has approved a major organizational restructuring to simplify its operations and accelerate growth. Proposed by CEO Marc Murtra, the new model divides the Spanish business into three independent commercial units: B2B España, B2C España, and Mayorista España.
Borja Ochoa will lead the B2B unit, which incorporates Telefónica Tech and focuses on corporate clients, public administrations, cybersecurity, cloud, and AI. Óscar Candiles will head the B2C unit, managing residential customers, connectivity, and the Movistar+ television platform. Marisa Urquía will lead the Wholesale (Mayorista) division.
As part of this shift, the board of Movistar+ will be dissolved, and support functions such as Finance, Strategy, Legal, and Human Resources will be integrated into the group's central corporate structures to reduce duplication and speed up decision-making. The company aims to use the Spanish model as a platform to scale digital services, including cybersecurity and cloud solutions, into other international markets.
