Telefónica tops AI reputation index as Cellnex touts stable earnings in Europe
Telefónica has been identified as the telecom operator with the highest algorithmic reputation score, reaching 70 points in the RepIndex RIX and outpacing the sector average by 12 points. The rating reflects strong financial performance in the first half of 2026, including a 75% reduction in losses, an upgraded Fitch credit rating to BBB+, share buybacks and strategic alliances by Telefónica Tech. The company scored especially well in metrics such as Current and Drive, Controversy Management, Informational Coherence and Corporate Execution.
Cellnex’s chief financial officer, Raimon Trias, highlighted the group’s stable, predictable revenue model built on long‑term contracts that are indexed to inflation, providing protection against price‑level changes. He noted resilient margins, limited exposure to energy‑price volatility and a largely covered fixed‑cost base, which together support continuous organic growth as demand for connectivity infrastructure expands across Europe.
