Telegram rebrands Wallet to Walt and introduces Gram wallet

Telegram is restructuring its cryptocurrency ecosystem through the rebranding of its 'Wallet' service to 'Walt' and the introduction of a new 'Gram wallet'.

Walt, developed by The Open Platform (TOP), has evolved from a basic tool for purchasing Toncoin and Bitcoin into a comprehensive platform. It currently supports over 300 assets and offers trading, yield products, perpetual futures, and access to tokenized assets such as stocks, ETFs, and metals. Future plans for Walt include the launch of crypto cards and AI-assisted trading tools.

In contrast, the Gram wallet is a Telegram-native product designed for simplified, everyday transactions within the app. It will allow users to buy and hold Gram, send Telegram Gifts, purchase Stars, and transfer funds to friends or for use within Telegram apps. The Gram wallet will utilize a self-custodial model. Walt will also provide the infrastructure necessary for users to top up their Gram wallets directly.
