Telegram wins SoMo Borac award for investigative series

The digital news outlet Telegram has won the prestigious regional SoMo Borac award in the Best Storytelling category for its investigative series, ‘Afera Kerum’. The series, produced by journalist Denis Mahmutović, investigated the controversial real estate dealings of former Split mayor Željko Kerum.

The investigation began with the discovery of disputed legalization regarding Kerum’s complex in Kaštela. Following months of reporting, Kerum and other suspects were arrested by USKOK in July in connection with the legal issues uncovered by the series.

Telegram was also nominated in the SoMo Native category for the ‘Narančasta ribica’ campaign, which focused on the daily lives of single-parent families. The winners were announced at the 14th edition of the SoMo Borac awards held at the Tvornica kulture in Zagreb.
