Telemedicine services expand in Brazil via Videomedi and corporate integration
The telemedicine sector in Brazil is expanding through new service models and platform developments. Antonio Souza’s company, Videomedi, is scaling its platform to connect patients, professionals, and health units across all five regions of Brazil. The platform offers scheduling, teleconsultations, and data management tools for companies and public managers, with plans to implement five distributed data centers.
In the context of occupational medicine, teleconsultation is emerging as a complementary service for companies. However, regulatory guidelines from the Federal Council of Medicine (Resolution CFM nº 2.323/2022) and NR-7 mandate that occupational medical examinations and ASOs must remain in-person to include necessary physical and mental evaluations. Telemedicine can be used for assistance, monitoring, and triage, but cannot replace the mandatory physical examination required for workplace health compliance.
