Telemedicine subscription services expand healthcare access in Brazil
New health subscription services are emerging in Brazil to expand access to medical care through telemedicine and discount programs.
AssiMed has launched several subscription tiers designed for individuals and families without conventional health insurance. These plans offer zero waiting periods and no age restrictions. Services include unlimited 24-hour video medical consultations, a 24-hour health concierge, and discounts of up to 80% on in-person consultations, laboratory exams, dental procedures, vaccines, and medications. Monthly plans range from R$ 59.90 for basic coverage to R$ 89.90, which includes life insurance and pharmacy reimbursement.
Simultaneously, VoxCare is targeting the democratization of tele-healthcare, particularly for lower-income populations. Data from IBGE indicates a significant gap in private health insurance coverage in Brazil, with only 2.2% of those earning up to a quarter of the minimum wage holding a plan. VoxCare offers an individual plan for R$ 24.90 per month, providing 24-hour access to medical teleconsultations, psychological support, and nutritional guidance, alongside a benefits club with cashback options.
