TV Globo confirms Avenida Brasil 2 sequel for 2027

TV Globo has officially confirmed the production of ‘Avenida Brasil 2’, a sequel to the global phenomenon telenovela that originally aired in 2012. The new production is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.

João Emanuel Carneiro, the author of the original series, is set to write the sequel. While official plot details and the full cast have not been released, reports indicate that several key actors from the original production are expected to return. Potential returning cast members include Adriana Esteves as Carminha, Murilo Benício as Tufão, Eliane Giardini as Muricy, Marcos Caruso as Leleco, Letícia Isnard as Ivana, Juliano Cazarré as Adauto, and Débora Falabella as Nina. Mel Maia is also expected to participate in a new role.

Market estimates suggest that lead actors could receive contracts ranging from R$ 50,000 to over R$ 1 million, though official financial details remain confidential.
