Telephone and Data Systems and Teradata report Q2 financial results
Telephone and Data Systems (TDS) reported second-quarter progress in its fiber expansion and tower operations. While the company lowered revenue expectations for its telecom business due to pressure from legacy copper and cable services, TDS Telecom achieved its strongest first-half performance in company history. The company increased its 2026 fiber address delivery guidance and expects to add between 250,000 and 300,000 new marketable fiber service addresses this year. Additionally, Array Digital Infrastructure completed major spectrum transactions, and TDS stated it would not provide an update on its proposed all-stock acquisition of remaining Array shares.
Teradata reported second-quarter results characterized by growth in recurring revenue, expanded operating margins, and higher free cash flow. The company raised its full-year non-GAAP earnings-per-share guidance and adjusted its free-cash-flow forecast. CEO Steve McMillan noted that demand for Teradata's hybrid data platform remains strong as enterprises move artificial intelligence initiatives into production. Total revenue reached $410 million, and cloud ARR increased by 8% year over year.
