Emergency incidents reported across Brazil and Portugal
Multiple regions in Brazil and Portugal are reporting various emergencies, including fatal accidents, drownings, and natural disasters.
In Brazil, severe flooding of the Iguaçu River has prompted a state task force to assist União da Vitória, where residents are being evacuated. In the Distrito Federal, firefighters rescued three people from near-drowning incidents. Other tragic incidents include the drowning of a 14-year-old in Bahia, the death of a government official in Pará following a jet ski accident, and a fatal motorcycle accident in Salvador involving the son of an Olodum singer.
In Portugal, search operations are underway for a 13-year-old who disappeared in the Douro River near Avintes. Meanwhile, wildfires have been reported in Proença-a-Nova, requiring hundreds of emergency responders to combat intense flames.
