Teletalk begins 700 MHz spectrum acquisition in Bangladesh

Teletalk Bangladesh Limited has commenced the process of acquiring spectrum in the 700 MHz band. The initiative was marked by a ceremony attended by Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam and Teletalk Managing Director Nurul Mabud Chowdhury.

The acquisition of the 700 MHz band is intended to expand and modernize Teletalk’s network. Due to its lower frequency, the spectrum is expected to improve signal reach in rural and remote areas, enhance indoor coverage in urban buildings, and provide more reliable telecommunications services to customers.

As the country’s sole state-owned mobile operator, Teletalk aims to use this technological advancement to facilitate digital service expansion and strengthen its infrastructure for future technological progress.
