Telethon raises record $101 million for Western Australian children
The 59th annual Telethon fundraising event in Western Australia has raised a record-breaking $101,277,705. The 26-hour broadcast, held at the RAC Arena, surpassed the $100 million mark following a $5 million donation from Telethon Trustees Kerry Stokes and Christine Simpson Stokes.
Funds raised will support medical and research beneficiaries dedicated to assisting children in Western Australia facing illness, disability, and disadvantage. To date, Telethon has raised more than $850 million for these causes.
As part of the fundraising efforts, a collaborative project between Telethon, Blueprint Homes, and the Satterley Group produced a specialized Telethon home in Clementine. Located in the Upper Swan region, the property raised $1,305,000 for sick children.
