Latin American communities launch initiatives for elderly welfare
Various community and social initiatives are being launched across Latin America to support and recognize the elderly. In Chile, the ‘Marcha con Alma 2026’ will feature walks in eight communes, including La Florida and Talca, to promote a positive view of aging and advocate for social rights. This initiative is supported by Fundación Las Rosas, SENAMA, and other organizations.
Other regional activities include a job fair in Costa Rica organized by Grupo Monge for workers aged 45 and older, and community celebrations in Mexico and Argentina. In Chile, the municipality of Viña del Mar has opened applications for the ‘Festival del Cantar Años Dorados 2026’ for singers aged 60 and over, while Teletón Maule is seeking volunteers for its upcoming solidarity campaign.
