Televisa remakes 'La Pícara Soñadora' in new M-Drama format
Televisa is releasing a new version of the classic telenovela 'La Pícara Soñadora' to mark its 35th anniversary. The remake is part of a new entertainment category called 'M-Drama,' which features a faster narrative pace, dynamic editing, and a blend of animation with live-action elements.
Lead actress Abril Di Yorio, known for her role in 'Vecinos,' portrays the protagonist Lupita López, a department store worker dreaming of becoming a manager. The story follows her relationship with Alfredo Rochild, an heir who uses a different identity to work at the same location. The production, led by Carlos and Eduardo Murguía, condenses the traditional long-form story into 21 episodes.
The series is scheduled to premiere on Monday, August 24, at 7:00 p.m. on Canal 5 and will also be available on the ViX streaming platform. The cast includes Darío Duque as Alfredo Rochild/Carlos Pérez and María José de la Cruz as the antagonist, Bárbara.
