Televisión Española celebrates 70th anniversary with journalism tribute

Televisión Española (TVE) is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a series of special programming dedicated to the history of Spanish journalism. As part of the commemorations, former ‘Informe Semanal’ presenter Mari Carmen García Vela made a brief appearance on the program, marking her return to the studio after thirty years.

A major special titled ‘El Telediario de nuestras vidas’ is scheduled to air on Monday, October 19. The 45-minute broadcast will feature a gathering of iconic news presenters, including Iñaki Gabilondo, Matías Prats, Ana Blanco, and Pepa Bueno. To promote the event, the network released a promotional video styled after the opening scene of the film ‘Reservoir Dogs,’ showing the journalists walking toward Torrespaña.

The tribute is a collaborative effort involving Atresmedia and Mediaset, allowing various prominent figures to participate. Additionally, the Telediario 1 will broadcast live from Robledillo de la Jara in the north of Madrid on October 15.
