Several figures in Chilean television are facing scrutiny or transitions at Canal 13. Commentator Patricia Maldonado has criticized the entertainment program ‘Alfombra Roja’ for allegedly exploiting the emotional distress of Francisca Merino to boost viewership ratings. Maldonado suggested that the network and its producers prioritize ‘morbid curiosity’ over the personal well-being of individuals facing difficult personal circumstances.

Separately, reports indicate that Pamela Díaz may be leaving the station following the conclusion of the remaining episodes of ‘Vértigo extremo’. Journalist Fanny Mazuela reported that Díaz is dissatisfied with the network after Canal 13 reportedly declined to support several digital projects that were part of her agreement to co-host the program. This follows a period of reported tension between Díaz and colleague Gisella Gallardo.
