Television series explore themes of middle-aged female rage

Recent television programming has seen a rise in series centered on the experiences and frustrations of middle-aged women. Notable examples include Sharon Horgan’s HBO series, Youth, which follows a divorced mother in her fifties, and the Stan series, Kill Jackie, starring Catherine Zeta Jones as an ex-assassin.

Another prominent series is The Assassin, featuring Keeley Hawes as a retired contract killer named Julie. These shows often depict protagonists who take control of their lives in response to significant personal and external challenges.
