Cultural events and arts festivals across Germany

Various cultural events and artistic developments are taking place across Germany. In the music scene, the Mexican rock trio The Warning is preparing to release their fifth studio album, ‘Everything’s Falling’, following the cancellation of their recent tour dates in Germany, Belgium, and France due to drummer Paulina Villareal Vélez collapsing during a performance in Münster.

Film and theater highlights include the eighth East Thuringian Documentary Film Week in Gera, featuring works such as ‘Jeder schweigt von etwas anderem’ and ‘Insekten – Helden im Verborgenen’. In Weimar, the TeleVisionale festival will showcase nominated children's series and youth films, including ‘Neue Geschichten vom Pumuckl’. Meanwhile, Braunschweig’s Wintertheater celebrates its 15th anniversary with new productions like the comedy ‘Engel’.

Other notable events include the ‘Tanz im August’ festival in Berlin, which explores global issues through dance, and the ‘Nachtfrequenz’ youth culture night in Kamp-Lintfort, featuring cosplay and manga workshops. In Gera, upcoming highlights for the remainder of 2026 include an electronic open-air event, a philharmonic tribute to John Williams, and various local markets and festivals.
