Telewizja Polska faces payment delays for hundreds of collaborators

Telewizja Polska (TVP) is facing difficulties with timely payments to its collaborators, potentially affecting several hundred people. The delays primarily impact those working under civil law contracts, such as mandate and specific-task contracts, as well as self-employed individuals including operators, sound technicians, and production managers.

Some contractors report waiting for more than two weeks for payments, with some arrears dating back to June. One collaborator from TVP Info announced an intention to withhold work until the outstanding remuneration is received, citing a lack of funds for living expenses.

TVP has attributed these delays to temporary liquidity problems and a wait for a funding tranche from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. While the broadcaster has acknowledged the delays and promised to settle the debts, contractors have expressed frustration over a perceived lack of communication regarding when payments will be made.
