Telix Pharmaceuticals proposes US$2.35 billion merger with ITM
Telix Pharmaceuticals has proposed a US$2.35 billion merger with the German radiopharmaceutical company Isotope Technologies Munich (ITM). CEO Dr. Chris Behrenbruch described the deal as a “transformative step” intended to combine the expertise of both companies to meet the rising global demand for therapeutic isotopes.
Despite the merger announcement, Telix shares experienced a 12% decline on the day of the news. However, the company has seen recent regulatory successes, including FDA approval for its glioma imaging agent, Pixclara, and fast-track status for its Bipass prostate cancer program.
Additionally, Telix is presenting 20 abstracts at the 39th Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) in Vienna. These presentations cover various clinical trials, including Phase 3 studies for recurrent glioblastoma (TLX101-Tx) and renal cell carcinoma (TLX250-Tx), as well as research into targeted alpha therapy and medical technologies.
