Telkomsel launches new BTS tower in Agam Regency to expand digital access

Telkomsel has officially launched a new Base Transceiver Station (BTS) in Jorong Lariang, Nagari Nan Tujuah, located in the Palupuh District of Agam Regency. The new infrastructure aims to provide inclusive digital connectivity to a community that previously had limited internet access.

The inauguration was attended by Andre Rosiade, Vice Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), along with local government officials and representatives from Telkomsel. During the event, Rosiade conducted a video call test to verify the strength and stability of the connection, confirming that the signal is functional.

Nizar Fuadi, Telkomsel’s Vice President of Area Network Operations for Sumatra, stated that the connectivity is intended to expand access to education, public services, and digital economic opportunities. Local officials noted that the improved network will assist students in accessing digital learning resources and help small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) utilize digital platforms.
