Telkomsel launches Terpujilah GURU to boost teacher AI literacy
Telkomsel has launched the 'Terpujilah GURU 2026' program, an initiative designed to enhance digital literacy and artificial intelligence (AI) skills among educators. The program aims to help teachers adapt to rapid technological shifts, ensuring they can use AI wisely in the classroom while maintaining the essential human and empathetic elements of teaching.
The program exceeded initial expectations, reaching over 3,800 high school and vocational school teachers through roadshows in various Indonesian cities, including Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Medan, as well as through online learning. Abdullah Fahmi, VP of Corporate Communications & Social Responsibility at Telkomsel, noted that the original target was between 1,000 and 2,000 participants.
The curriculum focuses on human-centered AI utilization, productivity, AI prompting, visual design, video creation, creative teaching methods, and digital assessment. Participants are encouraged to become educators, creators, and innovators, culminating in the development of practical teaching materials for their respective schools. The initiative also involves professional organizations such as PGRI to ensure sustainable impact.
