Telstar seeks to re-hire AZ striker Sem van Duijn
Telstar is seeking to re-hire striker Sem van Duijn on loan from AZ Alkmaar. The 22-year-old previously played for Telstar during the second half of last season, where he recorded five goals and two assists, contributing to the club's Eredivisie survival.
Telstar coach Henk Brugge has described Van Duijn as a ‘modern striker’ similar in work rate to Harry Kane. While initial contacts have been made with both the player and AZ, a formal agreement has not yet been reached. Brugge noted that while Telstar is highly interested, they are also pursuing other options to ensure they do not rely on a single candidate.
Van Duijn, who recently extended his contract with AZ until 2031, has seen limited playing time in Alkmaar recently. A loan move would allow the player to gain consistent Eredivisie experience.
