Telugu actor and producer GV Narayana Rao dies at 73

Veteran Telugu actor and producer GV Narayana Rao has passed away at the age of 73 following a period of ill health. His death was announced via social media by actress Karate Kalyani.

Narayana Rao’s career spanned nearly five decades, during which he appeared in approximately 100 films and various television serials. He made his cinematic debut in 1976 in K. Balachander’s ‘Anthuleni Katha’, a role that earned him the Nandi Award for Best Supporting Actor. Throughout his career, he transitioned from lead roles in films such as ‘Muthyala Pallaki’ and ‘Oka Oori Katha’ to supporting characters and film production.

He maintained significant professional and personal ties with major figures in Indian cinema. He was a classmate of superstar Rajinikanth at a film institute in Chennai and was a close associate of actor Chiranjeevi, having worked with him in several films and produced movies for him, including ‘Devanthakudu’ and ‘Yamudiki Mogudu’.
