Kiran Abbavaram's 'Chennai Love Story' Opens to Strong Box Office

Telugu romance "Chennai Love Story", directed by Ravi Namburi and starring Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya, was released worldwide on July 24, 2026. The film opened with strong numbers, reporting a first‑day gross of roughly ₹7.5‑8 crore (about $1 million) across India and overseas, and an occupancy of around 30 % on about 700 screens. Critics praised the lead performances, especially Sri Gouri Priya, while noting the uneven second half.

The film's budget is reported between ₹15 crore and ₹32 crore, and the makers expect to break even at around ₹45 crore. Despite a scheduled release clash with Vijay's "Jana Nayagan", Abbavaram affirmed the film would not be postponed, and distributors secured sufficient screens. The success meet highlighted collaborative credit among producer SKN, writer Sai Rajesh, and director Namburi, and featured house‑full shows in several centres.

Audience response, particularly among youth, has been enthusiastic, with positive buzz on social media and strong overseas collection of about ₹2.5 crore. The film is positioned for continued momentum through its opening weekend.
