Telus invests $21.7M in Victoria and Saanich infrastructure
Telus Corporation announced a $21.7 million funding allocation for the municipalities of Victoria and Saanich in British Columbia. The money is part of the company's broader $15 billion provincial commitment and a $66 billion Canada‑wide program to expand and modernise telecommunications infrastructure by 2030. The investment will be used for network upgrades, new wireless towers and the extension of Telus PureFibre service, as well as initiatives aimed at digital inclusion, youth programming and health access through a partnership with the Cool Aid Society and support for local charities. Telus also plans to retire copper landlines, promote a circular‑economy approach, and add rental housing units tied to its infrastructure projects.
