Tema Oil Refinery and GOIL explore strategic petroleum collaboration

The Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) are pursuing deeper strategic collaboration to enhance the supply and offtake of locally refined petroleum products. During a meeting in Tema on September 2, 2026, leadership from both state-owned institutions discussed ways to strengthen their existing business relationship to improve Ghana’s energy security and market resilience.

TOR Managing Director Edmond Kombat reported significant progress in the refinery’s operations, noting that the smooth execution of ongoing restart and supply processes demonstrates improved operational discipline. As TOR undergoes a transformation and optimization process, the partnership with GOIL is intended to ensure that refined products find a reliable market, ultimately supporting greater price stability at the pump and contributing to the national economy.
