Temecula school board investigates alleged secret device planting

A surveillance scandal has emerged within the Temecula Valley Unified School District in California following allegations that a trustee secretly planted an electronic device under the desks of fellow board members.

Surveillance footage from a September 22 meeting reportedly shows Trustee Melinda Anderson kneeling and placing a small object beneath the shared desk of board members Emil Barham and Steven Schwartz. The footage also appears to show Trustee Jennifer Wiersma nearby during the incident. Schwartz and Barham have described the act as a disgraceful invasion of privacy, with Schwartz calling for the immediate resignation of both Anderson and Wiersma.

Anderson has announced her intention to resign and provided a different account of the events. She stated that she had begun carrying a small microphone because she felt threatened and intended to document conversations for her own protection.
