Temenos expands Brazil operations to modernize banking core systems

Temenos, the global banking‑software provider, is expanding its presence in Brazil to help financial institutions upgrade legacy core systems. The company says Brazil’s market is highly digitalised but still hampered by complex legacy infrastructure that slows product rollout and raises maintenance costs.

Rodrigo Silva, Temenos president for the Americas, noted that “Brazil is one of the most dynamic financial markets in the world… but the industry still faces structural problems related to legacy system complexity.” He highlighted the Banco da Amazônia’s recent core‑banking modernization as a pilot, enabling broader digital‑credit offerings, instant Pix payments and greater financial inclusion for underserved Amazon‑region populations. The rollout began in 2025 and is expected to continue shortly.

Temenos aims to serve cooperatives, regional banks and fintechs across Latin America, leveraging Open Finance and the rise of super‑apps to improve operational efficiency, data use and product personalization.
