Temitope Osoba's family postpones burial indefinitely

The families of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba have announced the indefinite postponement of her burial ceremony. The decision follows a candlelight procession and artists’ night held in her honor in Lagos. According to a statement from the Osoba and Awonuga families, the postponement is intended to allow for further arrangements and the resolution of pending matters before a new date is set.

Conflicting accounts have emerged regarding the circumstances of the 40-year-old actress's death on August 5, 2026. Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, disputed reports suggesting she died from poisoning or breast cancer complications, noting he was informed she died at a police station in Ikorodu. He also denied allegations regarding the misuse of funds intended for her medical treatment.

Conversely, the Osoba family has provided a different account, stating that the actress had expressed personal and relationship challenges to her aunt in the months prior to her death. The family noted that her behavior became increasingly erratic on August 4, leading to her being taken to the Igbogbo Police Station after allegedly causing a disturbance in traffic.
