Tempe security guard arrested for alleged voyeurism of students
Antony Cruz, a security guard for the Tempe Union High School District, has been arrested on seven counts of voyeurism. Authorities allege that Cruz accessed and downloaded unauthorized security footage showing female students, aged 13 to 15, changing clothes in a temporary locker room at Corona del Sol High School.
The incident occurred while the school’s main locker room facilities were closed for renovations. The unauthorized activity was discovered following an internal audit by a district security supervisor, who noticed misuse of the security camera system. Investigators determined that footage had been exported to external devices and that the system’s cloud storage was accessed from an IP address linked to Cruz’s home.
Cruz was taken into custody at his Phoenix residence and booked into the Tempe City Jail. A judge set a $100,000 cash-only bond, citing community safety concerns. The district has placed Cruz on administrative leave, and police are continuing to investigate the case to identify potential victims.
