Tempi Municipality hosts kiwifruit festival

The Tempi Municipality held a two-day public kiwifruit festival in Aigani and Pyrgetos on October 24 and 25. As a vital pillar of the local economy, the event focused on the nutritional value of kiwifruit and the importance of scientific knowledge in improving cultivation.

Scientific presentations were delivered by Fotios Tekos, Ioannis Vangelas, and Anastasia Stamatopoulou, covering topics such as beneficial properties, pathogen causes, quality control, and cultivation practices. These sessions aimed to provide producers with the information necessary to enhance product quality and competitiveness.

The festival also featured cultural activities, including traditional dances by local cultural associations and an educational project presented by the Aigani Primary School. Mayor Georgios Manolis emphasized that the festival is a significant institution for the municipality, supporting local producers and strengthening the primary sector.
