The judicial proceedings regarding the Tempi railway accident continue at the Larissa Court of Appeals, with three sessions scheduled for the current week. A total of 26 witnesses are expected to testify during this phase of the trial.

In recent rulings, the court granted a request to lift privacy protections on the mobile phone of the night shift station master. This allows for forensic examination of incoming and outgoing calls, SMS, MMS, and data applications such as Viber, including attempts to recover deleted files. Additionally, the court ordered the seizure of the service phone belonging to assistant driver Nikolaos Nalbandis for forensic analysis.

Conversely, the court rejected requests to call MPs Adonis Georgiadis and Dimitris Markopoulos as witnesses. Relatives of the victims have also submitted new requests concerning the identification and examination of bone fragments collected from the crash site.

During recent sessions, the parents of 22-year-old student Giorgos Papazoglou testified, alleging significant safety gaps in the railway system and negligence during the investigation. They emphasized that the state failed to address known issues and that families were forced to act as investigators themselves to uncover evidence.
