Tempi tragedy victims' families demand answers at Thessaly Regional Council

Relatives of the victims of the Tempi train tragedy attended a meeting of the Thessaly Regional Council in Larissa to demand answers regarding the management of the accident site. The families are seeking clarification following reports concerning the use of a crane company, Tsapatoris Cranes Transport, for debris removal at the Koulouri site.

Concerns have been raised regarding the legitimacy of the company, with reports suggesting it may have been a ‘ghost company’ established after the work was allegedly performed. The company reportedly received a direct contract worth 178,560 euros. Relatives expressed profound distress, accusing authorities of desecrating the site and profiting from the tragedy.

Kostas Agorastos, the former Regional Governor of Thessaly and current regional council member, participated in the session via videoconference. He stated that he does not refuse to answer questions or meet with the families, suggesting a private meeting without cameras or microphones to discuss the matter.
