Tempi victims' relatives association criticizes Greek government

Pavlos Aslanidis, president of the Association of Relatives of Tempi Victims, has issued a sharp critique of the Greek government regarding the handling of the Tempi train tragedy. Speaking on OPEN, Aslanidis stated he will not meet with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the upcoming Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF).

Aslanidis raised concerns regarding the investigation into the covering of the accident site with debris. He cited testimony from a Deputy Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, alleging that orders for such interventions were issued by the Prime Minister and his aide, Mr. Bratakos. Aslanidis demanded answers regarding who authorized these actions, which he claims desecrated the site where the victims died.

The Association plans to participate in a large-scale nationwide protest during the Prime Minister's visit to Thessaloniki. Despite government actions, Aslanidis expressed confidence that the victims' families will achieve justice through the courts.
